Ranking Each Welch's Fruit Snack Flavor
Welch’s has become a household name when referring to fruit snacks, being one of children's all-time favorites. There are a variety of bags to choose from ranging from the classic Mixed Fruit to the Tropical Island Fruits, yet which bag is superior? Read to see which fruit snack bag has the best-tasting experience!
1. Welch's Mixed Fruit (Favorite: 9/10)
Overall Impression: Has the classic fruity flavor associated with it. Unfortunately, I received a stale bag which may affect reviews later on.
Individual Flavors:
Strawberry (7/10): A classic favorite, the strawberry flavor delivers as expected, earning it to be in every bag we review.
Blackberry (6/10): Unfortunately this flavor fell short on flavor and felt weirdly pasty.
Raspberry (10/10): Raspberry however shines brightly, bringing it up four more points compared to blackberry.
Peach (10/10): The peach gummy impresses me not only in flavor but also its aesthetic.
Orange (10/10): The crown jewel of the bag, the orange gummy captures the feeling of eating an actual ripe orange.
2. Welch's Berries 'n Cherries (Second: 8/10)
Overall Impression: Opening the bag immediately reminds me of childhood cough syrup, which some hate but others love.
Individual Flavors:
Strawberry (8/10): While enjoyable, the strawberry flavor had gotten melded with other flavors, making it a mute flavor.
Blueberry (6/10): Initially mistaken for plum, the blueberry gummy failed to impress me.
Cherry (8/10): Embracing a classic artificial cherry flavor, the cherry gummy earns points for a nostalgic taste.
Raspberry (10/10): Just as amazing as the raspberry from the other bag.
Plum (6/10): Tastes almost identical to childhood cough medicine.
3. Welch's Island Fruits (Last: 1/10)
Overall Impression: Despite claiming that the bag would be reminiscent of a tropical paradise, it instead smells like rotten bananas at the bottom of a fruit basket.
Individual Flavors:
Pineapple (4/10): The gummy lacked the sourness of a real pineapple and was a bit too sweet for me.
Strawberry (6/10): The strawberry gummy again merged with the other flavors making it taste mediocre.
Mango (1/10): A tragic disappointment, the mango gummy was absolutely awful.
Kiwi (5/10): Nothing special about this gummy, tastes like sugar air.
Passionfruit (4/10) Like the rest of this bag the passion fruit was meek and offered nothing to me.
In conclusion, Welch's Mixed Fruit takes the top spot with nearly every gummy getting a 10/10. Welch's Berries 'n Cherries follows closely behind, offering a decent mix of hits and misses. Unfortunately, Welch's Island Fruits falls short with its disappointing tropical flavors. For a tasty snack experience, stick with Welch's Mixed Fruit.
