Is Ed Sheeran the Leader of Leprechauns?

Every day, the shocking truth becomes more apparent: Leprechauns have snuck their way into our midst and found themselves deeply rooted into our society. As the Viking Vision’s resident Leprechaun hunters, we have worked tirelessly to uncover and track down proof of who we believe is the head Leprechaun, Ed Sheeran. 

The most obvious piece of damning evidence is his luscious, fiery red hair. Everybody knows that all gingers are Leprechauns, but there is a secret quality to Sheeran’s locks that simply make them stand out. We have surmised that his alluring hair must be imbued with Leprechaun powers, but we have still yet to discover what secrets lie behind that orange mop. Despite our small lack of understanding, it has become quite clear to us that Sheeran holds greater power than his Leprechaun brethren and is, with the utmost certainty, their leader.

While Sheeran is quite clearly a Leprechaun, what sets him apart from the rest lies in his possessions. Ed Sheeran famously holds the biggest pot of gold in Leprechaun history with a net worth of over $200 million. The average Leprechaun holds about $2 million in assets whether it be in stocks, dispersed through companies, or large wads of cash, so with Ed holding more than 100 times that, he is without a doubt a head above the rest. With that much gold, experts have estimated that his pot weighs in at about 200 tons or 400,000 pounds.

One common concern is that Ed Sheeran could not possibly be even an average Leprechaun due to one small fact: he was not born in Ireland. Although this is the place where Leprechauns are widely known to originate from, this myth can be sorted out quite easily. While it’s true, Leprechauns were originally from Ireland, modern Leprechauns have settled into areas all around the world. Today, the most popular places to find a Leprechaun are now known to be England, the US, and Scotland. Sheeran is commonly known to have been born and raised in England, birthplace of the fiercest and most dense population of Leprechauns outside of Ireland, so the speculation is simply mindless rumor.

Ed has also paid respect to his Irish ancestry in the popular song “Galway Girl” to make up for his lack of Irish residency. This Leprechaun writes about a beautiful girl from Galway, a charming town in Ireland, whom he fell in love with while also going into detail about his appreciation for the city itself. This was clearly a political move, strategically planned to combat some of the rebellious Leprechauns upset that an Englishman had been made their leader. With the fact that Ed is still alive and thriving, the plan has worked and he continues to be on top of the magical Leprechaun society.

The next time you find yourself dancing and singing along to the catchy rhythm of an Ed Sheeran song, you might want to think twice about who is really behind the art. Maybe this icon simply is a talented musician who happens to be a redhead or maybe he is secretly a magical Leprechaun, with a pot of gold hiding somewhere in the English countryside.
