How Does the Moon Affect Hair Volume

Anyone who is a deep sleeper can confirm that waking up with a poofy, frizzy, tangled rat’s nest on top of your head is a daily occurrence. However, you probably did not know that this was due to the moon. That’s right - the brightest thing in the night sky affects your hair, specifically its volume!

Although it seems pretty crazy, there is simple reasoning behind this magic. During the 12 hours out of the day that the moon is in the sky, its gravitational pull takes effect on your body. You naturally feel more tired when the moon is up - eyelids are heavy and you’re constantly yawning. Additionally, despite what your mom says, the bedhead isn’t because you squirm like a snake having a seizure in your sleep, it’s the moon’s fault!

You have probably noticed how people with curly hair typically have much more volume than those with straight hair. It is common for people to assume this is true because of the coily shape and pattern of their curls. However, in reality, people with more voluminous hair like that statistically spend more time outside when the moon is up. One thing leads to another, and the gravitational pull affects the curly heads, giving them a lot of volume.

No one with straight hair should stress now, though. As we can see, the simple solution to increasing the volume of your luscious locks would be to spend more time drowning in the moonlight. Results normally vary, but at least an extra 30 minutes - 1 hour outside at night can lead to visible improvements in just a few weeks!
