Election News

Beyoncé Running for Governor of Texas

For years Beyoncé has been known only for her incredible feats in the musical industry, such as having the all-time record of Grammys earned and selling out thousands of concert tickets in mere minutes. Now, in this election cycle, Queen B, a name branded affectionately by Beyoncé’s fans, has decided to branch out from this image and enter a new field: politics.  Following the upcoming release of her first country album and the already hit pre-release single, “TEXAS HOLD’EM”, this Houston music star has announced a campaign to run for state governor.

Die-hard-fans and casual listeners alike were in absolute shock by Beyoncé’s unexpected new endeavor but it seems like B will be receiving overwhelming support from all sides. While Beyonce has been somewhat dubious in regards to her political party, it is to many people’s surprise that she has decided to run as an independent party, gaining support from the American people regardless of their predispositions toward each other.

What may be the most surprising news to come from this announcement is that Queen B is predicted to win. This Grammy award winner has already excelled in the primaries held earlier this month. Texas is one of ten states that hold primary runoff elections if no candidate holds the total majority of votes, so it is currently undecided whether she will be elected governor or not. Still, countless surveys and polls have resulted with Beyoncé on top so while only time will tell, the governor position seems quite within her reach

Beyoncé has taken a giant step forward in the world of entertainment proving to all that she is a force to be reckoned with. Many artists such as herself, Taylor Swift, and even Kanye West, have been urged to involve themselves in this country’s systems of government and while they may be highly unqualified, the potential to bring together our population under the umbrella of their music is something that the United States have been proving to need.

2024 Presidential Election to be Decided Based on Candidates Performance on the SAT

In recent years, American election practices have come under fire. While some voters have called out the electoral college for being unfair, others have baselessly alleged that the whole system is rigged. Regardless of which party you identify with, it is clear that the American presidential election needs to be decided more efficiently and effectively. In March of 2024, Congress decided to take action on this issue, and passed a new bill that will completely transform the American election system.

H.R. 1600, which is also known as the American Election Improvement Act, passed both the House and Senate unanimously. Under this bill, the 2024 presidential election will be decided based on which candidate performs better on the SAT, or Scholastic Aptitude Test. This test has been administered to high school students since 1926, and has long been used as a benchmark in college admissions.

On November 2, 2024, the Democratic and Republican nominees for president will join Washington D.C. high schoolers in taking the SAT. They will be tested in their reading, grammar, and mathematics skills, and can achieve a score of up to 1600. On November 5, 2024, the two candidates will sign into their CollegeBoard Student Score portals and view their performance on the exam. The candidate who performs better will be awarded the position of president, and will hopefully use their proficiency in high school math and English to create a better future for all Americans.
