Colleen Hoover Takes Her Place Among The VHS Staff

VHS admin is excited to announce the arrival of a new Creative Writing Class next year taught by the award-winning author Colleen Hoover! This exciting new class will focus on honing students' writing skills and encourage creative thinking. Colleen Hoover has expressed much interest in teaching a creative writing class and Valencia High School is lucky enough to be a part of her teaching journey. 

Margaret Colleen Hoover is an award-winning author who specializes in romance novels. Her best-known work, It Ends With Us, a heartwarming and positive love story, was turned into a movie and released in 2024. The overwhelmingly positive response to the movie has encouraged  Colleen to venture out and explore new opportunities such as teaching. Other notable works by Colleen include: It Starts With Us(sequel to It Ends With Us), Reminders of Him, and Ugly Love, which are all amazing displays of her talented storytelling and her showcase of healthy relationships. 

Not only is Colleen Hoover a talented writer, but she also excels in showcasing healthy relationships for her impressionable young adult audience. Many readers have since used her novels as guidebooks to navigating relationships. 

The class will heavily focus on studying the works of Colleen herself and reading her entire bibliography. Hoover says she plans to review her work and then start teaching her students to write their own B-list novels. 

After interviewing several students who are excitedly awaiting her arrival among the VHS staff, we expect this class to be extremely popular and limited in class size.
