Cheer Spotlight: Paige Davis

Paige Davis is the Valencia High School varsity sideline cheer captain and has been a part of the school’s cheer program for all four years of high school. Paige has also been a member of the cheer program’s competition team for two years now while also taking on the responsibility of being the president of the Viking VIP’s club on campus.


1. How long have you done this sport, and what inspired you to start?

“I have done this sport for 13 years and I started because all of my friends were doing it.”


2. What position do you do in stunting, and why do you enjoy it?

“I am a main base and I enjoy this position because I have a lot more control over the stunt and people tend to fall on me less.”


3. Have you had any setbacks in your athletic career? How did you overcome them and what did you learn from them?

“My knee popped out of place at cheer practice but I kept on going and persevered through the pain.”


4. Are you planning to continue this sport in the future?

“No, I don't think I will be continuing cheer in the future because I won’t have time with my major to commit to a college cheer team.”

1. What is one book/movie you think everyone should read/watch?

“The movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas.


2. Who is the most inspirational person in your life (or someone who inspires you)?

“Mrs. Bernier has been the most inspirational person in my life and she is always there supporting when I need her.”


3. What are your plans after high school?

“My plans after high school are to go to a four-year university and major in aerospace engineering.”


4. What is your favorite pastime?

“Probably cheer, cheer is all I do, my life is cheer.”
