Athlete Spotlight: Isaac Shin

Isaac Shin is a senior at Valencia High School, and has been a member of the Football team since his freshman year. Isaac has helped cofound a wellness initiative focused on athletes' mental health called More Than a Game.

Q: How long have you been playing football and what position(s) do you play?
A: I’ve been playing football for 4 years and I play wide receiver and corner.
Q: What do you love most about football?
A: My favorite part is getting to play in front of everybody on Friday nights.
Q: What struggles has football presented to you?
A: One struggle I’ve faced is balancing school and football, as sometimes I feel as if I’m constantly running out of time. Another struggle I deal with is having to deal with injuries that take away a lot of valuable time from football.
Q: Outside of football, what have you been passionate about?
A: Outside of football, I’ve been passionate about cognitive science and kinesiology.
Q: Who/What motivates you?
A: My friends motivate me by keeping me accountable and pushing me to work harder. Surrounding myself with great people keeps me wanting to work just as hard or do better.
Q: What are your plans after high school?
A: I plan to go to college and pursue kinesiology.
