Athlete Spotlight: Delaney Morris

Lila Onori

Delaney Morris is a member of the Valencia High School varsity sideline cheer team and has been a part of the school’s cheer program for all four years of high school. Delaney has also been a member of the cheer program’s competition team for two years now and is a USA National and CIF Southern Section champion. 



  1. How long have you done this sport, and what inspired you to start?

“I have been doing cheer for ten years and everyone started doing it so I joined too.”


  1. What position do you have in stunting, and why do you enjoy doing it?

“I’m a backspot and I enjoy it because I could not be a base.”


  1. Have you had any setbacks in your athletic career? How did you overcome them and what did you learn from them?

“I’ve had a couple set setbacks, I’d say a majority of them were coaches.”


  1. Are you planning to continue this sport in the future?

“Yeah, hopefully. My dream is to cheer at the University of Alabama.”

  1. What is one movie you think everyone should watch?

“How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”


  1. Who is the most inspirational person in your life (or someone who inspires you)?

“Morgan Silverman.”


  1. What are your plans after high school?  

“Four-year college and hopefully cheer.”


  1. What is your favorite pastime? 

“Hanging out with my friends.”
